Cory Caprio
Hi! My name is Cory and I am currently a senior at the University of Minnesota majoring in psychology and minoring in Japanese. I have been involved for about the past two years with a Japanese ministry in the Twin Cities area called Japanese Student Connections (JSC). I've been thinking about international missions for the past few years and am thinking of doing missionary/ministry work in Japan long-term. Starting in July I will be attending a language school in Osaka for about a year. After that year I'm thinking of getting a job and staying in Japan, but I don't know for sure yet. Regardless, I'm going to help with ministry and outreach during my year abroad. I want to focus on college students. Although I've been outreaching to Japanese students with JSC, I've heard a lot about how there is a difference between Japanese students who come to America (or another country) versus the students who stay in Japan. And that doing ministry in Japan is different from doing ministry in America. So, I figured these classes would be good for me to get trained up and better equipped. As well as in general to improve my understanding of Japanese culture, people, and history.
