Takako Lee
My name is Takako Lee from Torrance, CA. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom of three and married to my husband, Wilkin for over 15 years. I was born in Fukushima, Japan and immigrated to the US in the early 80’s. I grew up in LA adapting to the American culture rather quickly. There was also a dichotomy living in a traditional Japanese home and my parents trying their best to preserve our Japanese culture. I was a pretty frustrated teenager trying to “fit in” these bicultural worlds while trying to communicate with my parents what I was going through. Jesus became my Lord and Savior my freshman year at Cal State Long Beach and life has NEVER been the same. Talking about my new-found faith brought in another whole level of hurtful miscommunications and misunderstandings between my family. In this class I’m interested in learning about my background and history. Also to maybe to have better perception of my parents’ point of view and bridge any gaps of misinformation along with how to communicate the gospel to the Japanese people.
